Through my time of working with various aspects of home design, I’ve found that my favorite projects are the ones that bring together timeless elegance with modern comfort, and this curated concept board is a beautiful expression of that balance. By combining warm leathery tones of browns, and oranges, this design embodies a transitional aesthetic between both old and new, seamlessly blending classic elements like stone and marble with contemporary fixtures.
Throwing a nod to the renaissance era of marble and stonework that signified the craftsmanship and wealth of the time, the base of this design largely leans on such surfaces which combine to keep each of the featured spaces bright and interesting due to the mixture of textures. Displayed in both the kitchen as well as the bath space, Cambria’s “Haydon” quartz adorns the countertops in a classic yet simplistic marble design across a creamy beige body with gold and coffee veins. Complimenting the countertops, the “Tivoli” herringbone mosaic by Cancos Tile and Stone, as featured on the floors of the master bath, provides the look of aged limestone pavers, without the upkeep, in a stunning porcelain herringbone pattern that flows well with Happy Floors’ “Eva” collection oversized porcelain tile, mimicking the texture of natural stone in the shower.
Complimenting the bright neutrals within both spaces, multiple stunning fixtures from Hudson Valley Lighting embellish these spaces, making for a more transitional-contemporary feel while adding warmth back into the space with details of travertine and natural alabaster.
